Nyarubara Primary School: old facility and classrooms vs. new well equipped classrooms
It took time to be built, but there are now nearly completed: 15 new and well equipped classrooms for 1.000 children, a Girl’s room and Headmaster/Teacher offices for more than RWF 160 Millions incl. Umuganda Value. Ahead of the inauguration in just a few weeks in Oktober 2016, our project partner in Rwanda have sent us a short Video (not very professional) summarising the history of the primary school of Nyarubara.

The elementary school Centre Nyarubara is located in the District Musanze, North Province, at the foot of the volcano region. Nyarubara Primary school Centre is a state elementary school with about 1,000 children and fifteen classrooms.
In the old classrooms, up to five children are sitting tightly packed on 120 cm school desk. Children are obviously hindering themselves and this state is thereby not motivating. To a great extent this tightly sitting explains the poor school performance when it comes to the national secondary Education Ordinary Level test. Our Organisation “Rwanda Community in Germany” has helped to change this state to the better: http://rwandadiasporagermany.com/verbesserung-der-bildungssituation-in-distrikt-musanze/
As a result of the overall project a total of fifteen new classrooms, Girl’s room, headmaster and Teacher office have been built, equipped with solid and more ergonomic furnishings and school materials.
In the new bigger classrooms only two children will sit per bank and this is not only more ergonomic but also is better for the learning performance.
Looking ahead to celebrating the new Nyarubara primary school in October 2016. Stay in touch with the Rwandan Community in Germany.
